The other night we spent some time with some of the folks from Abbey Animal Health™. It was great learning about this often lesser known Aussie company with some quality and note-worthy products. This Aussie company makes products that work for Australian farmers and is worth considering for the health of your animals.
Muster™ is one such product. A Lousicide pour-on treatment for cattle and sheep, Muster™ is an effective protection against Difubenzuron susceptible lice. These lice can bring discomfort to your animal and can cause dermatological issues as well as decrease the quality of the wool resulting in losses.
Difubenzuron is a development inhibitor that limits the growth of lice on treated animals. Difubenzuron works by inhibiting the growth of an insects’ exoskeleton thus creating an effective way of limiting the grown and effect of the pests.
Muster has a withholding period for meat cattle of 10 days, milk cattle is Nil. Sheep is 7 days for meat and Abbey™ recommends not using on lactating or pregnant ewes where milk may be processed for human consumption and a 6 month interval for wool harvesting.
