IBR (Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis) is a viral infection affecting the respiratory system of cattle leading to Bovine Respiratory Disease. IBR is one of the most common infections found that contribute to BRD. Some studies found that between 80%-90% of cattle tested showed evidence of previous infection.

This infectious and quick spreading disease can lead to symptoms such as pink eye, respiratory issues and even infection, having serious implications on productivity. Tara Rural Supplies and Condamine Seeds and Tyres stock a couple of quality options for protection from and treatment of BRD.

BRD is most prevalent during high stress times such as weaning, transporting, mixing, handling and changes in diet. IBR (Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis) along with MH (Mannheimia Haemolytica) aid in the progress of Bovine Respiratory Disease making vaccination against IBR and MH critical in combating the spread of BRD.

Rhinogard® is an effective vaccine to consider in the fight against IBR. This innovative vaccine has, for a time, only been available through vets, however last year's regulatory changes have made it possible for producers to access Rhinogard® for their cattle. Zoetis has also changed the formulation to a frieze dried product which makes it easier to use and to store. 1

Rhinogard® is part of the great range of Zoetis vaccinations and animal health products. A program of Zoetis vaccines is a great option for the life of your cattle. For a more complete protection against BRD consider enlisting Bovishield ® from Zoetis. Mannheimia Haemolytica is the other primary contributor to BRD. Bovishield® is an effective one-shot vaccine to help in the fight against BRD. [2]
